Title: CRC Practice Notes - Winter 2009

Welcome to the Winter edition of the CRC Practice Notes.

Congratulations Gaelene

Congratulations to Gaelene for successfully completing the fourth and final subject in the Diploma of Financial Planning.  Gaelene is the first of our administrative staff members to complete the Diploma of Financial Planning with Karen, Cassandra and Nicole all now commencing the fourth and final topic. We are all very proud of Gaelene’s efforts along with those of all staff currently at various stages of ongoing study.

Congratulations Grandparents

Congratulations to Wayne and Julie, their daughter Selina and son-in-law Chris on the birth of a baby boy, Jonte. Wayne and Julie look forward to being devoted grandparents.

Certified Quality Advice Practice

In June, our licensee, Charter Financial Planning awarded CRC Financial Services status of Certified Quality Advice Practice (CQAP). This certification is not awarded lightly and we are proud of the recognition given to us by Charter. Many thanks to David Allen and all staff, but especially Nicole for doing the majority of work required to document our processes so we could qualify for CQAP.

Staff Changes

We wish Stacey all the best as she is commencing her fine arts degree at the University of Tasmania.

We would like to thank Stacey for her contribution over the last 18 months and we are very happy to see her pursuing her own dreams. We are also delighted that Stacey will be continuing to work with us on a casual basis while at university.

We also have a new face on reception with Karina having joined us full-time in June. Welcome aboard Karina.

We also wish Rachael all the best and thank her for her contribution to the business over the 27 months. Rachael has decided to pursue alternative employment options and we wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.

Investment Valuations

It has been pleasing to see some recovery in investment valuation in recent months. It is important for those that watch the values of their investments via the internet, to understand that you will see a notable drop in valuations as at the end of June. Please be assured that this drop in valuation is primarily the result of fund managers making distributions to platforms such as Summit, Asgard etc. These distributions are then processed by the platform and added back to your investment balance via the Cash Holding Accounts.

There can be a delay of up to 6 weeks before the distributions are all showing back on your investment balance although interest is still credited in the meantime. During this period your investment balance on the internet will appear lower than it actually is.

Outside Work Achievements

Matthew recently competed in the National Capital Dancesport Championships held at the AIS Arena in Canberra. With over 60 couples in each event, Matthew and his dance partner Megan made it through to a final in their New Vogue section, Qualifying Final for their Modern section and made it into the Semi Final for their Latin.  We were told that he didn’t win any gold, silver, or bronze, although his skin is looking shades of bronze and gold (fake tan does take some time to come off!)

Congratulations to Karen, Wayne, Cassandra and Byron for surviving Boot Camp. Some claim to have enjoyed the experience while other found new levels of feeling queasy. Wayne (skinny) Morgan has shed a significant level of “padding” during the process and has continued his training in the hope of extracting revenge by beating Byron in the next season of Boot Camp. It is always great to have dreams no matter how unrealistic they may be!!! (Byron).

Get Well Soon

Finally at the time of writing we know of a number of staff family members and clients alike who are unwell. We would like to wish everyone who is unwell a very speedy recovery and to family members caring for those who are unwell we assure you of our full support.
